Weekends just got better
Our Saturday lifestyle liftout Weekend has been given a facelift.

"We've turned up the style dial with a smart new look, new contributors and new regular features to inspire, inform and entertain" said editor Cathy Osmond.

Melbourne psychologist Sandy Rea has joined the team to answer readers' burning questions. We've also welcomed Melbourne journalist Peter Wilmoth with his new column 'The Moment': detailing the very moment that changed the life of high-profile Australians.

We've also introduced a new home section 'My Space' featuring celebrity abodes, alternating each week with 'Gardens': which includes Vasili Kanidiadis's practical tips for weekend gardeners and a lush glimpse of private and public gardens in Victoria. 'In Store' showcases homewares, and our fashion pages have a special trends spotlight, while 'About Town' explores the lives of extraordinary Victorians.

And readers can still enjoy Jamie Oliver's exclusive recipes, Mikey Cahill's entertainment wrap and Leigh Paatsch's lowdown on film.

Weekend is a complete contemporary lifestyle offering, read by 91 per cent* of female Herald Sun readers every Saturday.

News Limited steals back trophy
The News Limited Knights overpowered a very classy Agency All Stars side to win the annual footy match at the MCG!

Held on Saturday August 6, the footy match saw News Limited reclaim the prestigious cup with a final score of 3.6.24 to 2.8.20.

With no more than a few points separating the sides all match, a long-range goal late in the game by Herald Sun's Steve Mercuri gave the Knights enough breathing space to claim victory.

Captain-Coach James Seymour was proud of his charges, turning the tables on last year's result: "The boys showed great improvement this prep, but we won't rest there. We will work on our process and tighten up our structures to win again next year. With a parting shot at his rival skipper, Nick Swifte of Mitchell and Partners, Seymour quipped, "The Cup looks much better in my glass office than Swiftey's little open plan desk ."

Now in its fifth year, the News Limited Knights have three wins to the Agency All Stars two.
