Adnotes cocktail function: Next Tuesday, April 5
In the last BiteSize newsletter we announced Adnotes: Our new advertising opportunity designed to make your brand stick on the front cover of the Herald Sun.

News Limited Director of Sales, Tony Kendall, said: "The Adnotes concept brings new options to advertisers. We have a variety of enhanced creative opportunities not previously available in Australia, such as die-cut shapes, scratch and sniff panels, large format, magnets and double-sided printing."

This month we'd like to invite you to a cocktail function in Melbourne to learn more about Adnotes and how they can benefit your business.

The experts from Ferag Australia - post-press printing specialists - will be in attendance to answer all your questions and will give insights into what has worked well overseas.

Date: Tuesday, April 5 at 5.30pm.

To register to attend this evening event please contact Carla Jobson, senior marketing analyst, on 03 9292 1527 or email jobsonc@hwt.com.au by 5pm this Monday, April 4.

AFL season 2011 launch
Victorians live and breathe footy. And so does the Herald Sun.

Recently we kicked off the AFL footy season with a lunch for 170 guests at the home of AFL - the MCG. MC Jim Wilson introduced key footy writers and photographers as a precursor to showcasing what's on the Herald Sun footy content calendar in 2011.

Coaching great Kevin Sheedy gave an opening address, SuperCoach ambassador Shane Crawford - dressed as Nanna Crawf - sang happy birthday to Mike Sheahan, we introduced new columnists Paul Roos and Scott Pendlebury plus Mike and Robbo, the Footy at 4 boys, and Pimp My Side entertained us on the panel. A skit by footy comedy duo The Peanut Gallery concluded a fun afternoon.

If you would like to view the team in action, there's always something online at heraldsun.com.au

The event reinforced that when it comes to AFL coverage, the Herald Sun is number one. The breadth and depth of our content across multiple platforms and the integrated commercial opportunities that come with this are unparalleled in this state.

We're also pleased to announce that Herald Sun TAC SuperCoach is again the number one fantasy football game in 2011 with 345,480 registered players. This is almost 14,000 more than the same time last year and around 100,000 more players than our closest competitor*. Plus our SuperFooty iPhone app continues to be the number one downloaded sports app in Australia.

Thriving Queen Victoria Market
Queen Victoria Market is a thriving open-air splendour of fresh produce, variety and specialty goods. And the secret of its success is twofold: quality products and a quality advertising partner.

QVM marketing manager Misti Dullard attested "the outcomes [of the campaign] have been more than pleasing."

"The relationship works because the Herald Sun does their research to ensure they understand the Market's many levels and they work to make the absolute most of every opportunity," Ms Dullard said.

"They value the concept of 'partnership' rather than just the advertising dollar. The campaigns that have been put together by Eryk and the team at Herald Sun have been very successful in building exposure for QVM across everything the Market does. Pro-active, creative, enthusiastic and thorough are words that encapsulate their efforts when completing any campaign and their follow up is second to none. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the Herald Sun and building on the successful formula of 2010."

QVM have committed to a 12-month partnership with the Herald Sun across print, online and an EDM campaign.
