comprehensive spring racing coverage. Launching in October will be a new dedicated racing website -
superracing.com.au - and for the third year, racing fans will

from News Limited will report on this year's spring carnival providing our readers with the best possible coverage

| Just add razzle dazzle |
|
The Herald Sun entertainment sales team secured a high-profile
campaign for the stage show Chicago. And the result helped the producers - Skyline Theatrical through ACMN
(marketing) - achieve a whopping $6million in advance ticket sales*.
Genelle Mackie, Herald Sun entertainment account manager, devised a creative u-shape concept for the campaign
and used images from the Chicago website
and page archive to pitch the idea.
She said the client was thrilled with the look and feel. "Our priority is to make sure our clients are
delighted by providing them with that extra bit of razzle dazzle in their campaigns. The creative u-shape
certainly achieved this."
The campaign started on Sunday, April 26, 2009 and the musical kicked off in Melbourne on Thursday, August 20,
at Her Majesty's Theatre.
Chicago is one of the worlds' most popular and thrilling
musicals and tells the tale of two 1920s murderers coupled with a brilliant cast and sharp dance moves.

| Herald Sun promotes Simpsons Stick'ems - world first |
|
The Herald Sun has delivered a world first
Simpsons Stick'ems promotion to Victorians to mark 20 years
of Springfield's favourite family.
The promotion launched on Saturday, September 5, with a free collector's album - complete with a map of Springfield and
Stick'ems game - followed by a free Bart
Simpson Stick'em on the Sunday.
A different character was then available for $2 each day with purchase of the paper.
Ben Godkin, HWT senior marketing manager, said the Herald Sun pitched
the concept to 20th Century Fox. It was then picked up by News Limited newspapers and resulted in a $2million
marketing campaign across Australia.
"Our readers clearly love The Simpsons. We were delighted to be
able to help them celebrate the show's 20th anniversary in a fun new way.
The results have been well above expectations," Mr Godkin said.
All 16 characters can be stuck on windows, computer screens or the family fridge.

| Mediacom wins Herald Sun footy tipping |
|
Advertising agency Mediacom has taken the honours in the
annual Herald Sun agency footy tipping competition.
This year's hotly contested competition involved 10 of the largest media agencies in Victoria vying for the chance
to take home weekly prizes including Myer vouchers, slabs of Crown Lager and Sherrin footballs.
Mediacom's national analytics manager [and footy tipping captain 2009], Lory Vecchio, said: "It's a great
competition. It gets the whole office involved for the 22 weeks and creates a healthy and
friendly rivalry with other agencies."
Mediacom won a $10,000 agency party of their choice.
A second tipping competition for direct clients, known as the Champion's Club league, pitched 162 individual
players against each other for a travel voucher worth $2,500. Client Daryl Mangles from
Skilled Group was victorious.
