The retail market is already gearing up for Christmas and so are we.
In December we will publish our Christmas Gift Guide and Smart Shopper catalogue packed with great gift ideas for the festive season.
As Victoria's most Powerful and Personal media brand the Herald Sun is an ideal environment in which to advertise in the lead up to Christmas. Men's Body Works owner Angie Macolino who advertised in the 2009 Christmas Gift Guide said "The last lot of ads worked a treat so as well as our regulars the influx of new clients has been incredible and gift vouchers are doing well."
Attractive interactive Christmas advertisement opportunities will also be available on heraldsun.com.au to increase your brand presence online.

Flavour of Victoria, our annual glossy food and wine magazine had just the right ingredients.
How do we know? Our readers told us. "The front cover grabbed my attention immediately with its vibrant and fresh look. I love food and I love Victoria and as we travel often to other regions to visit family and friends, I am always on the look out for things to see and do. I was impressed with the quality of the magazine, its content and the advertising. Just the right balance of information" said one female Herald Sun reader panelist aged 63.
Utilising our reader panel we can reveal that 59 per cent - close to half a million Saturday Herald Sun readers - read the magazine; with three quarters saying they liked the publication. Forty per cent liked it a lot. The majority also felt more aware of the diversity of food and beverages produced in Victoria after reading and 61 per cent said they were more likely to seek out and buy Victorian produce.
Flavour of Victoria, now in its second year, encapsulates the very best in food and wine from across Victoria. The magazine was inserted in the Herald Sun on Saturday, August 21.

| Power of news; phones go gangbusters |
|
Health research specialist Sanofi-aventis Australia recently ran an ad in the Herald Sun, on behalf of Emeritis Research, to recruit for a rheumatoid arthritis clinical trial.
The advertisement appeared in the news pages of the Herald Sun on Tuesday, August 10. And they were inundated with calls. "The response was excellent. The phone was ringing off the hook," said Sanofi-aventis Australia clinical research associate Julie Cassar.
More than 2.2 million* Victorians read the news pages each week; three quarters of whom consider it to be a very/extremely interesting and involving part of the Herald Sun. As a result we continue to hear from happy clients such as Sanofi-aventis Australia who have since placed two further ads.

| Partnership makes a splash |
|
The Swimming Pool and Spa Association of Victoria partnered with the Herald Sun for their 2010 show in Melbourne.
And attendance numbers proved it was the right choice.
Turbomarketing chief executive officer Alan Tobin said: "The new format (Sat/Sun only) proved successful and attendances were comfortably ahead of last year. The highlight, from my perspective was the support from the Herald Sun. Positioning, features, pointers etc etc."
The Winter Spa & Pool Expo - held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre in August - showcased an extensive range of swim spas, spas, pools, together with equipment, accessories, landscaping and outdoor ideas.
For information on partnerships please contact Kylie Pritchard, HWT partnerships and major events manager, on 03 9292 2741 or email pritchardk@hwt.com.au
